Players and fans alike are gearing up for the second season of match play with the Boston Pro Tennis League. The 2011 schedule was announced May 23 and the first match will take place at 4 p.m. Sunday, June 19th at Winchester Country Club. BackRiver, with captain Alejandro Andres, will take on City Year/Parlin, captained by Todd Merringoff.
These captains lead teams that faced off in the epic inaugural BPTL finals last year. Merringoff’s Hastings/Triumvirate pulled off a come-from behind win over Andres’ team, Staley Capital.

Gala Seats, & Tables Made Easy – Singles, couples, and all combinations of friends are highly encouraged to enjoy the gala. Tenacity is pleased to put together tables for all who wish to attend with friends. The Boston Professional Tennis League will enjoy a special rate of $150 per single seat and $1,500 per table of ten. Hastings/Triumvirate, the #4 team going into the playoffs, emerged victorious over Staley Capital in the finals and took the title of champion in the Boston Pro Tennis League’s first season. It couldn’t have been more fitting than to have the final match once again come down to a super tie-breaker to decide the league champion, even if BPTL results are starting to sound like a broken record.
On a perfect August day, just steps from the ocean at the picturesque Manchester Bath and Tennis, everything was set for the inaugural season’s final match. As the crowd was gathering on the clubhouse roof deck and courtside play started just after 6. With the title on the line the players had a slightly more intense demeanor than the previous regular season matches, they were all ready to compete. Read the rest of this entry »
